Thanks I was actually trying something entirely different, using spawn eggs to spit out mobs for a mob farm, but I wanted a way to do it that was obtainable in survival. Then on a whim I put chicken eggs into a dispenser and it started spitting out chickens

Automatically cooking the chickens is possible, but the timing would depend on how many chickens are in the egg pen, which would affect how often eggs are laid. A higher population would produce more chickens so the cycle would be shorter. That would just take some testing to find the optimal timing. I suppose after leaving the return gate open for a few hours to build up the population, you could close it and activate the cooking cycle (would that make it an egg timer??). I might show a future version with an optional timer, but for now to keep the build simple I just have it being activated manually.

You could make the dispenser work much faster with a comparator, but even with the way I built it, the chickens tend to get hit by multiple eggs when they spawn. A faster dispenser would likely kill the baby chicks before they even hit the ground.

I tried the hoppers in the lower pen, but unfortunately the chickens get stuck in the tops of the hoppers and won't flush into the incinerator. In practice the farm should be flushed pretty frequently or else let the chickens back into the egg pen up top.
