I have recently noticed a lot of people posting topics on PMC such as "My Grandma just died, how should I get over it?" There was also a topic called "How do you deal with a broken heart?" That one is getting noticed a lot and as we speak has 125 replies of people giving advice.

In my opinion, these people should not try to get advice for personal problems on a gaming website.

I am not saying that I don't feel bad for these people, but they are trying to resolve their problems in the wrong way. If you have a personal problem, you go and ask people that you trust in real life, and not random people on the internet.

I know the whole speech on how it's 'a free country' and 'you can't tell people what to do' and all that, but that is not what I am trying to accomplish with this post at all.

These people should think about what they are doing to the website also. Imagine you are just roaming around PMC, having the best day of your life, when you suddenly come across a depressing blog post about how someone's gf broke up with them and their cat just died, something like that. PMC is about the Minecraft community and having fun, not a website where people share why their life is so terrible.

There was a really good blog post on this by sleepingdragon80 that illustrates this very well, except it talks about Minecraft servers. Here it is: http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/dep ... -internet/

Also, some people who post stuff like that (SOME NOT ALL) just do it for attention, so not only does it bring other people down, it is bringing them down for no reason.

Thank you for reading this post, and keep in mind that this is my opinion only. Hopefully we wont see as much depression posts on PMC anymore.

Im actually dating Sleepingdragon80. so i know a lot more about the core meaning behind that blog post.

It wasnt to say gaming websites are the best place to get advice. it was to make people aware that this game means more to some than others. sometimes the friends they play with on this game ARE there only source of comfort.

at the end of the day if people are only here for the gameplay then they shouldnt read personal blog posts
