nitromegamerFrom looking at all kinds of buildings here on Planet Minecraft and on servers and such, I have always noticed that when people build in Minecraft, they try to imitate real life. They try to add real-life details such as window shutters (which look terrible in Minecraft in my opinion) and they use texture packs to make cauldrons and hooks look like sinks and faucets.
WHY??? Real life is real life, and Minecraft is Minecraft. In Minecraft we have lots of things to use that work in the game, such as crafting tables, furnaces, brewing stands, and beds, but why would we need a sink and a toilet and window shutters?
I think instead of trying to imitate real life, we should be building based on Minecraft, using things that are functional in Minecraft.
Now you might think that such a building would be boring and stupid-looking, that doesn't have to be true. I've built many buildings with this concept and I have had many compliments on them. Most of the good looks of the buildings come from the building materials and the shape of the building. I think you should actually try it before criticizing it.
