Like stated above, Avast is an antivirus. The reason AVG picks it up as malicious is because anti-virus software needs elevated permissions in order to monitor and detect for your OS. You should only have one anti-virus installed on your computer. Any more than that and you risk them conflicting with each other, and it becomes very resource intensive in terms of memory and processing.
