i had made a post on a war themed datapack. i'll copy n paste most of it here.
1. raids against an outpost. similar to a village illager or zombie raid. but with the goal of taking the player out and capturing a flag.
what i mean is placing down a flag which notes it as a territory within a set amount of blocks. and enemy mobs (or players if on a server) will try to capture and replace it with their own.
2. capture enemy mobs to convert to allies. i think this one should be possible at least. kinda like converting a zombie villager back to normal but turning a hostile mob into a friendly mob with either a change in texture, or given a flag on the back (if the flag one is possible.)
3. the flag is made by the player. basically the flag can be custom made like the banner. then everyone can determine everyone else's armies more easily.
4. allow for customization of the datapacks features via new datapacks please. that way other people can make more features to work on it.
i hate the low effort spam datapacks too. especially the cheat crafting ones.
i mean if you are going to make a cheat crafting or a simple convience crafting (like i did) at least put a LITTLE effort in it and make it more than a dumb joke thats been done so many times.
i've made crafting datapacks and i'm worried that those will get lumped into the spam catagory. i mean i put effort into those (and by that i mean balancing and some thought into making it make some sense)
these spam datapacks are ruining the visibility of other more deserving datapacks. (not that mine deserve that much more visibility. mine are low quality. but at least not spam.)
i think they are balanced and have their purposes.
the sapling conversion for those who don't want to or can not explore for more saplings. such as a single biome world or have a hard time finding said biomes.
the leather for a balanced way to avoid having to farm cows. this one when i changed the recipe kept both in one page. to avoid spamming.
not all recipe only packs are cheating.
i don't claim that mine are high effort packs. anyone could make em. i just figured it would be a decent idea to share.
shoot...i can't figure out redstone stuff... maybe, datapacks arent for me...
well...maybe in the future, if Mojang makes it easier to make mods rather than datapacks...i can just make a mod with a toolkit. still might as well check the vid out later. might be easier than i think... but somehow i doubt it.
