I'm assuming you don't have an optical drive. Don't get that keyboard & mouse because it fits the theme. You will be gaming with these peripherals and should extend to buy decent gaming gear. Trust me, you will want good performance out of your keyboard & mouse. I did somewhat try to follow the theme you were trying to get. From my knowledge on PC building, these parts will do unless you want a different mouse. Please don't get Windows 8. Windows 7 is amazing and will always remain amazing. I also got rid of the HDD. SSD are WAY more better and you should consider investing your money into this. I'm unsure of which games you will be playing, but a 240 GB SSD should be all right if you're playing modern games. If you play a lot of Steam games and need space for huge world games, such as MMOs, then get a 1 TB HDD and a 60 GB SSD for boot.

Although this costs more, you will be more satisfied when putting it together. Don't forget to make sure you're grounded to a solid floor, so that nothing electrifies your motherboard. Wash your hands as a precaution before working with these expensive parts. Good luck with your build, I'm sure you'll be very happy once you actually get this beast running. I know the feeling.

Don't follow this theme. You will regret it. I understand where you're coming from, but if you want a high performance gaming PC for $1,000 with a theme, you will be spending a lot of time and money finding the right parts.

I'll see what I can come up with that will fit your budget, performance, and design.
