personally i feel that xray hacks ruin the game for anyone else.
admin s and mods need to spend so long looking for them
they take all the diamonds so there are none left for normal players to find
on my server i had to go through and add some diamonds because they had all been harvested by xray players. banned them all now

PhrozenbitI made this counter thing. It counts from 0 to 9, in a real time clock fashion. I think the clock is 1 Hz but I don't know for sure. Please take a look

This thing will be part of a 'one hour' clock, and probably also a real time clock. I need to figure out how to hook up the rest of the shift registers.

it will be possible. try wiring in a nand gate to the output and a repeater delay of 5 secs, they go high it goes low and allows the input to change

GASSYPOOTSis there a way to make a redstone device that extends the maximum length that water can flow?

um pistons to release water as it flows lifting boats to show when water reached

I FOUND THE SOLUTION WATSON
in the mod buildcraft is a feature called world anchors, they prevent the chunks being unloaded thus you can select an area to remain loaded thus always rendered thus no render distance issues in those places

with regards to the render distance you really cant. servers do not have entire maps loaded at the same time due to it reducing the strain upon them. so you would have to have a series of players stood down the line to keep it all loaded, have tyou tried optifine extreme render distance? may just about be long enough
