Horror game idea because I'm bored and alone with my thoughts

You're in the woods being stalked by some big wendigo type monster, and right as night falls you come across an abandoned logging operation. There's equipment and a few vehicles, including a forestry harvester (one of these things, with the saws). The monster approaches and corners you, forcing you to take cover in the cab of the harvester. It tries to attack you from outside, but isn't able to break in. You're safe, until you notice a small crack in one of the windows. Every time the monster hits the cab, the crack spreads. The glass won't hold forever. Taking cover through the night isn't an option. You need to escape, and doing so on foot will get you killed. You're able to start the harvester's engine, but it won't budge.

Your objective is to repair the harvester into a somewhat functional state, and drive it to safety.

You won't survive being caught outside the cab, so you have to wait for the monster to temporarily leave before exiting to scavenge for tools and parts to repair the harvester's broken components. When the monster detects you or gets too close, you must immediately run back to the cab before it reaches you. Each time the monster chases you to the harvester, it'll attack the cab, further damaging the glass. If this happens too many times, the glass will break, and you know what'll happen then. As the night goes on, the monster also gets more aggressive, giving you less time to be outside.

Because lore is fun, you can find clues as to what happened to the logging crew while you scavenge around the work site for parts. A tipped log trailer, large scratch marks, obvious signs of a struggle. Tire tracks indicating someone was able to get away. A wrecked truck in a ditch indicating someone wasn't. Maybe even notes, perhaps giving clues to some kind of exploitable weakness the monster has. Maybe some of the crew put up a fight, and the monster has an injury you could take advantage of? Maybe it has some kind of reaction to light, and it would be beneficial to get the harvester's floodlights working?

There could be multiple endings depending on how much work you put in to repairing the harvester. Of course, repairing more is riskier. The more time you take making repairs, the more aggressive the monster gets and the more opportunities it'll have to catch you. If you just do the bare minimum to get the harvester moving, it'll break down before reaching a safe distance, stranding you with no chance of escape. If you put in a little more time and effort, you'll be able to drive far enough away with no catch at all. If you're skilled enough, maybe you could even get the harvester's saws spinning, and with a couple janky modifications, use it to take down the monster once and for all.

The old familiy dog passed. He was 15 and his age had been showing for the last year, so it didn't really come as much of a surprise. Still though, damn. It's amazing he was able to stick around that long, and we made sure he got all the love and attention he deserved. RIP bud, hope there's plenty of cheese and soft carpets in heaven.

It's not all bad though, new dog DLC dropped. She's a 6 month old poodle and her name is Ripley (after the main character from Alien). She's an idiot and loves hunting cicadas.



Things may look bad, and they are ngl, but at least now I have the pure unfiltered joy of this little goober to keep me going
