It's probably that your hardware is just too old and underpowered to run it, considering it's a HP laptop

I think the yellow pebbly one will work better with more builds than the reddish one

KpfsI would recommend looking for a better PC with a more up to date gpu like a 780 ti or a 970.

Jesus christ guys XD this guy has an $800 budget and you're recommending the highest end gpus "for only $100 more" aha

A more reasonable recommendation would be to get a more recent one in the same range like a discounted 770 or maybe a 960. If you find an amd one you could look for a 280/x/5.

We really need to know the graphics card, that dual core is not very good, and I can't remember if core 2's had integrated graphics, but if it did, it would be quite bad. And based on that 3gb of ram, I'm guessing the gpu is quite bad. Sorry but it's quite bad

3ds max, cinema 4d, autocad, or stuff like blender or sketchup for the low in budget.

Get an i5 and up that gpu to a 970 or something, this one's a bit unbalanced. You might also want to get a 600+ w PSU. Other than that seems alright

I'd side for AMD's integrated, but all of them are pretty bad, you could look for one with at least a discrete GPU like an 840m or something.

Oh gosh, you guys are getting so many viruses? The only antivirus I have is Avast and I've pretty much been clean for the past few years. After installing an OS, the first thing I download and install is some kind of antivirus/antimalware

Mash the f2, f12 key or del key depending on your motherboard brand and you'll get into the bios, there should be a boot section, check if any hard drives are listed there, if there are, then in the "boot priorities" or something along those lines set it as first, if you don't see any hard drives listed then I guess you dun goofed, you could open up your laptop and remove and put back your hard drive, but eh.

You are seriously skimping on the GPU, and crossfire/sli doesn't always double your performance. With $220 worth of GPU money, you should get a r9 280/x on sale

I hope you realize that's fake.

I hope you realise that everyone knows that it's satire. If not I congratulate you on thinking otherwise.

TheShadbusherYou fell victim to the overexaggeration. The card has a full 4 GB; the last half-gig or so operates slower due to the cut-down process that, mind you, is used by pretty much every other manufacturer in order to get different models of chips. Besides, the slight performance drop only really occurs when gaming at 4K. Otherwise, you're pretty much fine.

I know it's fine for the most part, but I've got a 970 that has serious vram issues. It occasionally freezes and requires a reboot, and I've tested my PC with a 650ti, 460, gt 9600 and integrated and they experience no problems. MemtestG80 also spews out a buttload of errors for my 970 and none for the other cards. I know it's just my own card that has problems, but seriously, I posted this on LTT and other people got these symptoms too and had to RMA it as well. Really? A new card with that many people experiencing problems?

    And nvidia lied.

    Seems alright.
You could cut down on the PSU wattage, unless you're going to sli or something, 600w is fine.
That's one expensive motherboard, you could get a gigabyte gaming 7/msi gaming 5 or something.
Meh, the 970? Well for 1080p I think 3.5gb is fine. I'm currently trying to get rid of my 970 and waiting for AMD's 300 series. Screw nvidia.
