Quick rant: I'm not too fond of HD texture packs. They advertise themselves as the coolest things ever when they take away the pixelated theme of Minecraft. It's difficult to find texture packs that don't do this as all the front pages are filled with resource packs that are all 32x or above.

I enjoy 16x, and sometimes 8x, texture packs. They try to take a twist on Minecraft's art style while also still giving that pixelated theme that I love about Minecraft. For this reason, one of the first ever mods I appreciated was the Minecraft Plastic Texture Pack, originating from Minecraft themselves in pre-Bedrock editions of Minecraft. Not many other packs capture its theme, but I've liked Plastick and Pixl 8x, paired with my favorite GUI pack, Unique Dark, and other cool packs like Bow and Arrow and Even Better Enchants.

My favorite resource pack, though, that I've discovered thus far would have to be BlockPixel. While it does make radical takes on the GUI, it keeps it gorgeous with decoration and effects. The textures also give a nice "alternative" art style to Minecraft, one that doesn't make it look any more low-poly while also not being any higher-resolution, preserving the blocky theme of Minecraft. It's gorgeous, clean, and overall adorable. I hope that Jakob.zero keeps this one maintained for the future and that he receives continuous support for it, even if I can't donate myself.

I love the blocky, pixelated theme of Minecraft and I'm not a fan of the higher-resolution textures that ruin it. I'm glad other people enjoy their quality and appearance, though, and especially appreciate their contributions to keeping resource pack catalogs diverse.
