Well, if I remember correctly, I bought Minecraft in March 2011 sometime after a friend told me about the game.
I watched some Youtube videos and thought it was a very great game, before I bought it. Of course, I still thought that after I bought it and played it.
I don't remember what I did, although I think I was just trying to figure it out and break and place things in a snow biome, as I think I spawned there, not very sure. I learned from Youtube that you needed to make a house until nighttime, and I think I either made one out of dirt or wood, or both. I didn't have any light sources or didn't realize you needed any, though, so zombies started spawning in my house, although it was daytime, it was just dark inside.
Sometime after, I created a new world, built a cobble house on a beach by a large mountain, and made a waterfall leading to a big cave / mine. During my newb days, I was easily killed by zombies and skeletons, although I did manage to kill some zombies, and I found some in the cave. To get back out, I climbed back up the waterfall-slide thing I made going down the mine.
That world, however, is gone now, and I don't remember the seed, so I can't go back to an old version and re-make that world :l
I started playing in Beta 1.5, by the way, so there was that old Cobblestone texture, etc. Sometime in Beta 1.7.3, I learned how to use mods. I learned how to install them, but I didn't know how to make them work until someone on a multiplayer server told me. I never used the Minecraft Client until that time, so then I finally got mods to work. I learned how to use Texturepacks before mods, also. At least, I think it was Beta 1.7.3 when I learned that.
I also remember the time I found my first pink sheep. Used the Glacier seed, found it near spawn, killed it, and never saw another pink sheep again until a server that made sheep spawn colored and me dying sheep myself. No actual natural pink sheep after that first time, though.
