Yes, it is very much inspired by Minecraft but there is just soooo much difference. It's building off of a Minecraft sort of idea but it's going much further with it, from lot's more creative tools, to more advanced Graphics, etc.
MineCraft is relatively simple and is meant to be that way, Hytale is more complicated.
