Why do you want to be this rank? I would like to be a reasonable rank because I am bored by having people get mod or admin, and then not helping out the server in any way, they just get on and like Spam and World-Edit crap. I hate it.
How many servers have you been staff on? 2-3 mostly because I find servers that I love, and then I play strictly on that one and try to get higher ranks and stuff.
How good are you at handling annoying people? I have tons of Minecraft playing friends, and on the server I am a mod on, everyone asks me for stuff. So I usually mute or kick them so they learn their lesson.
