Engine room Unit for Diamond Eternity

Today we rolled the new engine room module for the new cruise ship Diamond Eternity out of our assembly hall using our ship rail transport system. Soon, it will be moved to the large construction dock hall, where the remaining blocks will be assembled into the finished ship. You can follow the construction of the cruise ship LIVE on the 🏗️shipyard-webcam on our Discord https://discord.gg/BnGWb2N6y5

In the second half of 1891, the Compagnie de Navigation Internationale expanded the Africa route, which had been introduced the previous year, by adding two new vessels to operate a regular service as far as the Ivory Coast. The 100-metre-long Président Milo, formerly the Sénégal, and her sister ship, the Mauritanie, became the new flagships on this route upon their entry into service. The Président Milo accommodates 56 first-class and 196 third-class passengers. The crew consists of 53 men. With a cargo capacity of up to 2,800 tonnes, the ship transports passengers and freight between metropolitan France and the North and West African colonies.
First-class accommodation on the Président Milo is an evolutionary improvement on that of the old Marseille and now offers three fully-fledged public areas. Third-class accommodation provides space for up to 196 passengers in two dormitories.
The engine room is characterised by its redundancy. It can operate normally even with only three of the four boilers. The ballast pump system is decentralised, so that the system continues to function even if one pump fails. It is also equipped with a Brigantine rig.

    Project Updates!

As I work on my main project, I have decided to start a new secondary project where I build these little cruise ships from Chandris. The ships are: BON VIVANT, CARINA, FANTASIA, FIESTA, FIORITA, ROMANTICA, and RADIOSA. They will have about 60-70% of their interior complete due to the lack of complete GAs, but I will try my best to include as much passenger spaces as I can. Crew spaces however might be limited to certain areas for these ships.

Anyways, the first of these little Chandris ships is the Bon Vivant which is coming very soon! So stay on the lookout on my page when it releases!

Le Génie Civil – September 1891
    Steamship Amédée Courbet
-The Largest Vessel on the Marseille–Saigon Route

Commissioned on the 7th of September, the steamship Amédée Courbet becomes the new flagship of the Compagnie de Navigation Internationale and the largest vessel assigned to the Marseille–Saigon line. In terms of size, she surpasses the Australien, Polynésien, and Armand Béhic of the Messageries Maritimes Australia service.
Originally constructed by J. & G. Thomson for a Belgian transatlantic shipping company, the vessel was subsequently acquired by the Compagnie de Navigation Internationale, which modified her arrangements for service on the Far Eastern routes.

The vessel, measuring 157.3 metres in length and 16.35 metres in beam, accommodates across three decks 170 first-class, 241 second-class, and 212 third-class passengers. A crew of 192 ensures the regularity and proper conduct of the service.
First-class passengers are provided with five principal public rooms, including a music salon, a lounge, a reading and writting room, a smoking room with veranda and a spacious dining saloon. Second-class passengers are likewise provided with a dining room, a smoking room, and a lounge arranged within the main staircase, complemented by additional seating areas on the lower decks.
Third-class passengers are accommodated in comparatively spacious quarters located in the forward part of the vessel.

Propulsion is provided by two triple-expansion engines, supplied by a set of four single-ended and four double-ended boilers, enabling the vessel to attain a speed of 18 knots, allowing it to complete the route in 28 days under perfect conditions.

    👍
Planes may be faster, but (even before devolving into flying sardine cans) lacked many of the amenities passenger liners could provide.

Keel laying of the Scero 4000

Today was a very special day at the Aresor shipyard. Together with the shipping company Scerosea, we laid the keel for the ship Scero 4000. The ship is a derrick lay vessel. It can lay pipes and also assemble or dismantle offshore installations with the help of its 4000-ton crane. You can now follow the construction of the ship live on the Aresor Group Discord https://discord.gg/BnGWb2N6y5. Under 🏗️shipyard-webcam , you can also follow all other ships currently under construction. So come by and check out the updates on the ships.

    December 1931.
A group of trappers and Inupiat travel along the coast of northern Alaska with their dog sleds. In the distance, far out on the ice, they see three ice pillars rising up. Fascinated, they venture out onto the ice. As they approach, a black hull emerges from the ice. It is a ship, completely frozen and covered with ice. No smoke comes from the funnel, no light from the windows and portholes, no one on deck. The ship seems to have been abandoned for a long time. They climb aboard. The holds are open and full of furs. There is no one in the quarters. The coal in the bunkers is almost used up, the fires in the boilers extinguished. The ship is stuck, with no chance of being saved. So they leave it to its fate. As they leave the ship behind, they could hardly have imagined that this ghostly ship would continue to haunt these waters for decades to come.
