OK, first things first, you need to clean up your line art. You can argue that it's in your style but it just looks rushed and unfinished. Having a clean sketch/linework will definitely make your image look better.
Secondly, the deltoriod (shoulder muscle) on his left arm (our right) looks way to big for the kind of character you are going for. It also doesn't match the other arm.
Lastly, I strongly suggest not using the gradient tool in this way but actually shading it for your self. It just looks too airbrushed and smooth to look natural and any user of photoshop could pick it out a mile away.
Keep working on your art though, I can tell you really have a lot of passion for it!

If you already have a copy of Photoshop, I'd recommend using it or something like it. (I've heard gimp is good, its also free and much like Photoshop) I'd also recommend using Photoshop or something similar as it is an industry standard. Just try to learn it to the best of your ability, what ever program you use.

Eh humanity's doomed if theirs only two people left, not enough genetic variation to keep the species going. Species need a specific population count to keep them going so knowing this, probably gonna kill myself or the other person or both.

They are quite nice, the facial proportions are just about all correct and the skin tones are chosen nicely, although I would suggest making the background a different color so the faces stand out more, its kinda hard to differentiate them because the face is bright and the background is also bright. Just my two cents
