This is a touchy topic, remember a few things when doing this:
    • Before using music from games or movies, check to see the license on it. If the license it's under allows re-use, you're fine, as long as you don't make money off of it. Some sources might require that you give credit and cite the creator of the original source.
    • If you reproduce the source but in your own way, do the same as above. Make sure the license for the source allows you to remix it, or derive other sources from it. Some music licenses do not allow this.
    • When in doubt, the best solution to any legal concern is to contact a lawyer that works within your area.

    1) IGN: I stormhunted

    2) Age: 17

    3) Timezone: EST

    4) Maturity (Out Of 10): 9/10. I am very committed to getting work done the right way, not the easy way. By doing things the right way, one can save headaches for others (and oneself) in the future. I have a sense of humour, but not one so bold that it gets in the way of the job at hand. I am good at organizing projects and orchestrating teams (shift leader at work [IRL] for 13 months due to this fact).

    5) Position/Rank Applying For: Head Developer

    6) Why Should You Have This Rank: I believe that I develop cleanly, with clear documentation, and in a way that is usable by others. I also have received formal training on team management and have been certified by Oracle as a trusted developer for Java versions 7 and 8.

    7) How Long Have You Played Minecraft:
Since shortly after release (4-5 years)

    8) Previous Experience:
Plese PM me for access to some of my previous development experience in the form of code repositories. For understandable reasons, I don't want to publish access to my code repositories on a public forum.

    9) Skype (If you have it): jxt3500 (inactive, but can use if necessary)

    10) Strengths AND Weaknesses: As a developer, as previously stated, I feel that my code is clean, readable, and understandable, as well as being well-documented and well-tested. However, if one were to observe my process in detail, it isn't necessarily the cleanest, but the end result is a polished product that I am proud to claim responsibility for. As a team leader, I feel that my strengths are time management, proper task allocation, and team-based goal setting. However, sometimes my communication is lacking (I'm working on it), and I sometimes overload coworkers. Although, I am more than willing to accept responsibility for mistakes and to correct them quickly and responsibly.

    11) Do you prefer to work as a Team or Solo: This depends on the work being done, and I am flexible. By necessity, I do not mind working as a team, however I feel that minor tasks should be completed by the individual (a good real-life example: you don't need a whole team to crack an egg).

    12) Extra/Other:
Note about availability: Most days of the week, I work until 7pm EST. However, in spite of this, I am often available for communication and respond as quickly as possible, and have enough free time that it doesn't interfere with other interests (such as, ahem, development).

    13) Questions/Concerns you have: How will you define and/or measure success of the community?

I've historically been a well-received technician, I'm potentially interested. I've been known to work well with multiple plugins, and resolving conflicts between plugins, as well as ensuring that they work well together.

I have 9 years' experience as an information technology technician, and have been administering Spigot and Bukkit plugins for three.

I'm also a certified Java 7 developer, and am capable of developing custom plugins if need be.

This could potentially be possible, but it would require completely rewriting the client, using the 1.8 modding API as its resource library.

In other words, sure it could be done, but the amount of effort required would be cost-prohibitive. Besides, by the time it would be complete, Minecraft would likely be several major revisions ahead, requiring further rewrites to the mod.

I've always been a cat person. I guess cats are just lower-maintenace, and work well for people with busy lifestyles.

...that, and they're just universally better than dogs. Because, well... cats.

Us folks over at OptiPLEX could use one. We're looking for a banner with a sort of run-down, post-apocalyptic downtown city area in the background. In the foreground, we're looking for the (large) word "OptiPLEX" done in a sort of stony-looking font. Under the word OptiPLEX, we wish for the string of text: "Survival • Creative • City • Minigames".

We would be highly appreciative of your time if you could do something like that for us (: .

Developer Application for MineCube Minecraft Server

    1.) Real name: Josh T.
    2.) Age: 16
    3.) Skype: jxt3500
    4.) IGN: SnazzyJava

5.) What are you applying for as a developer? (Custom plugins, Web Development? Can be both)
Custom plugins, however, I also do web development

6.) If web developer, do you have experience with Xenforo and/or MyBB?
I have worked with similar forum engines before, although generally when I think "web development", I'm thinking more of the [PHP, CSS, Dart, HTML5] stuff.

7.) How long have you been developing/coding? 12 years

8.) What programming languages are you fluent in?
Java, PHP, VB.NET, JavaScript, Ajax, Dart. I am also fluent in the HTML and CSS markups.

9.) Do you have experience with Git, Jenkins and/or Maven?
I am highly experienced with Git. I have worked with Jenkins before, and I have used Maven in the workspace before.

    10.) Examples of past work?
    https://bitbucket.org/apothemdev/check.in/src
    https://bitbucket.org/SerialNano/thermaldiscouragement/src
    https://bitbucket.org/SerialNano/project-dolphin/src
    https://bitbucket.org/apothemdev/quizzme/src/
    https://bitbucket.org/SerialNano/gingersnap2/src

11.) Can you bring anything else to the table?
I am familiar with the implementation of the entire development process, including drafting, the actual development of the code, user testing, support, and continuous development. I keep to the methodology that development is never truly done, and that improvements can always be made to streamline the product.

12.) Describe your personality to us?
I am easy-going and always working for the interest of the entire group, rather than just accepting what I'm told by the "head honcho". I prefer to do things the right way, even if it takes a little longer than doing it the "easy way".
