I agree 100000% percent with this.
I have been creating servers since 2010 and it used to be so simple. You make a survival server, get good staff and there you go! Everyone has fun.

Nowadays, everything is all PvP based, which I have no problem with (I like pvp) but I do not like how it seems to have shoved the peaceful survival servers out the window.

After a long break I have opened up a new server which is a peaceful towny server with a slight rp aspect. It was great for a while, but now I only get 1 or 2 people joining whenever I bump up the advertisement! It is honestly so annoying.

Factions and other pvp servers (I'm not even gonna mention the new prison servers, I don't even know why op prisons exists) are at this point nothing but a big cloud of toxic gas that chokes out all of the non-faction servers.

I actually really enjoyed running a prison server back when it was just beginning. I had enough experience to pull it off when there was no MineResetPlus and other plugins that make it incredibly easy. I liked the slight roleplay aspect to it and how servers all had their own unique twists and it wasn't all just mining. But, that's become exactly what it is thanks to the stupidest, most unoriginal type of server I've ever seen. I hate OP prisons more than factions, and that's saying A LOT. What do you do in OP prisons? You mine. Wait, MINING? Where can you mine? Oh wait, I know! In Every Single Other Server That Has Any Slight Sense Of Survivalism or even in SINGLEPLAYER. I just don't get the use of this AT ALL. I suppose we have Serayne92 over at Arkham Network to thank for this, he's the one who started this virus.

This community has gotten to a point where everything must be pvp and must be appealing to a younger audience or it will fail (unless you have vast amounts of resources at your disposal like every single huge server).

I am sure I am being too harsh here, and shouldn't be comparing the present state of this game to the past as it is very different, but I cannot stand how the truly good servers are standing back in the shadows while the disease continues to spread. There are always exceptions, but from my point of view this game has gone downhill extremely, extremely fast (mostly due to YouTubers but I'll stop here or else I could keep going for a few more pages).

I like how this sounds, but I don't think I'd have to make a custom plugin for it. I'm looking for a big, original project to take on.

Use google and learn it yourself... It's probably one of the simplest plugins out there.
And writing in full caps doesn't get you noticed... it makes you look Stupid.

I use a $3,500 PC (1 and a half years old) and a $2,000 brand-new iMac.
PC is better for gaming hands down, but Mac is a far superior working computer, and I ONLY use my Mac when I'm programming. They're both computers people... Just avoid all this by building your own very good pc, then getting both OS on it. Problem solved, you have two in one PC.

I get 550 usually, but it's pointless above 70-80. Thats as much as the human eye can see!

Dust devils are typically weak and will only tear up the ground if they get big enough...
Just stay away from windows and you should be fine. No way it'll rip up your house.

We can't help you if we do not have any error codes. There are thousands of reasons why this could be. What does your minecraft say when it crashes?

Indev (Classic really), first version that was actually LIKE the minecraft we have today. I liked it before better than now. They sorta turned it into an RP. I was actually the 37th player to purchase the game It's nice to see how much it's grown.

Hey guys, I know this is off topic but I have a petition I was wondering if you can help me with!

I have a charger that honestly costs $10 for apple to make. It was cut open in the middle with 2 wires popping out and was a extreme shock hazard even with electrical tape. If I were to touch the computer I would get shocked for a unknown reason. I called apple and they wanted me to pay $80 to get a new one. My warranty was out. It's like asking, give me $80 and I'll let you live, or you can just die by using our product. If it's a reason they should tell you to throw it away and send you a new one with proof of course which I had and sent. This is honestly a outrage and hopefully you can help me make a change!

How did you know that when you touch the computer it gives you a shock for some unknown reason? As long as the two wires are connected which can easily be done with a bit of tape, really, power should flow just fine into the computer. Besides, you won't be zapped just by touching the computer. Plastic doesn't conduct electricity very well.


Most apple computers are made of aluminum, which can conduct electricity. Unless he has an older iMac, there will be little to no plastic involved other than the keyboard and mouse.

Experience: I have had minecraft since InDev back in 09, and have owned a successful server since the beginning of 2010.
Bio: I am 16, and have owned a server for over 4 years now. I have had bukkit since it's beginning and am able to do just about anything with plugins, which means I know alot of them Inside and out, and I am also a very fast learner, so if there is one I don't know, I will soon.
Previous staff experience: Over my 5 or so years in minecraft, I have co-owned 3 server, been an admin on 5, some king of Mod rank on... I don't know that number exactly. It's high up, though.
Plugins you know(Inside and out): Just about anything... Essentials, Groupmanager, Worldedit, worldguard, bPermissions and many other permissions plugins, Crackshot... I won't list them all, it'll take a day.
Other activities/games: Skyrim, AC4, BF3, BF4, AOE2, Tekkit/modpacks, State of decay... etc

(I am also a very kick-a$$ builder, if help is ever needed in this field)
