Open letter to you know who you are

Needed to get this out after a few years:

Sorry for not responding. Reading your message at the time, I realized that I did not share this level of ambition for my art (skins) and figured it was all a bit too high-level for me to fully make use of your advice. I did try my best to apply the parts I thought I could in my work from that point onwards, thinking that maybe it would come through without mentioning it, but I think it just came off as me ghosting, looking back. I just didn't really have an idea of what to do or how to respond to being offered such a treasure, knowing I wasn't far enough along yet to truly make use of it, knowing I didn't really want to get that far.
Now that I'm a bit closer to where you thought I'd be, I really wish I had that message saved.
