Minecrat is actually a mirror: when you think it is boring, it is because you play it in a boring way. It depends on you. I play minecraft for a year now, and I still have fun with the infinite possibilities in the game. A few months ago, I was also a bit fed up with mining, building stupid towers, farms, storage rooms, so I tried something different. I went onto HungerGames servers, started playing Minez, build extreme redstone computers and factories. But after a month, it was no fun anymore, so I went vanilla survivaling again, and now I'm attempting to improve my medieval building skills (gonna upload my first project today!!). So my recommendation for you is to try out different things, and when you're fed up with something, dont delete the world file or the server, maybe later you might want to do that again.
