What really helped me here was thinking of jigsaw blocks as “doors” between structure pieces instead of normal blocks. I build small rooms or corridors as separate structures, put jigsaws at the entry/exit points, and let the game snap everything together during worldgen. With just a handful of pieces you already get a lot of variation.
