Ah, nevermind. That website you gave me has a download for not just the json but a "datapack" which I was able to look up how to add to the game. From that I learned how it's set up for what I want, that's exactly what I needed. Thank you!
Like I said I don't even install Forge. My launcher uses a custom version of Minecraft that has Forge and/or Optifine/etc. built in. I'm not sure why you're bringing up corrupt mod crashing, that's random.
"F.E.?" I have a launcher that has versions geared towards the different OS's, and I got the Mac version so my launcher installs whatever version of MC perfectly for Mac. And in addition to listing every official release and snapshot it has Forge & Optifine versions of every MC version that those have releases for (as well as some older stuff for the older versions). I just select whatever version I want to play in the launcher then click play and it loads it up and just works.
That's a cool little tool, but it doesn't really help me. Like I said I already learned how to program the jsons, I just don't know how to make the game use them.
