I think Bedrock is just more convenient for most people. I've always been glued to Java edition and prefer it because its the version I grew up with, but Bedrock is more accessible. Its on just about every console, smart device, and computer out there. It also has the advantage of cross platform multiplayer which is pretty awesome.
I'm always going to hold the belief that Java is better for dozens of reasons but Bedrock definitely has it's place and its a welcome addition to Minecraft.
