I think a common misconception that many creators have starting out is the idea that you need this one big viral project to launch yourself into stardom and be known by everyone. The reality is, that is the single best way to doom your entire career. When your project is popular, it is your project that's popular, not you.
The people are not looking at you going "Oh, they're good." They're going, "Oh, that's good", and that project becomes a thing that gets compared to for all your future projects going forward. So if you somehow have a viral idea, and now you need a 2nd one, that's a terrible environment to be creative in.
In fact, it often takes years for people to notice and to even know you as a creator.
Take MrBeast for example. It's easy to look at the success he has now, but he's been doing this since 2012. That's 11 years doing this! And it's not a guaranteed 11 years either, some has even been on YouTube since YouTube's first launch (2005) and hasn't had as much of an impact as he did.
Granted, PMC and YouTube aren't the same deal, but the core idea stays the same. You need to have a backlog of good things people know you by, in order for them to know who you really are as a creator.
So an advice from someone who's worked on datapacks since 2018:
Know that it's going to be a long journey, be prepared for it, and do your best.
