    Just a quick PSA.

    Do NOT download stuff from shady websites! Yesterday I found out that 9hacksomething (I don't remember the actual name) was using the description and thumbnail from my plugin DiscordLog, to get people to download something from their site. Thing is, the thing under the 'download' button isn't even my plugin! (plugins aren't .exe files)



    Immediately after seeing the .exe extension, my thoughts went to "I wonder how many viruses does this contain". I ran it through VirusTotal, and this was the result.



    And the best thing is: none of the buttons in the footer in their website work! Including the 'Contact' button. So, that's probably their solution to having the creators threaten with legal action - how can you threaten someone, if there is no one to threaten?


    TLDR: Don't download stuff from shady websites, especially if they don't credit the authors of their content.

    There's a list of specific sites to avoid here: https://stopmodreposts.org/sites

    Generally best not to download things from anything with a number in the website name.

    For some sites you may be able to send a DMCA to get stolen content taken down, although I'm not sure if that's possible for that particular site.
