umm as the guy above me said all you need is the ip go to google or some place like dat and look up minecraft servers 1.5.2 or what ever version than in game click on the multiplayer button and click add server then find a server you wanna play and put the ip in the server address box the ip will look someting like 12.34.56:7890 <-- that one is fake fyi i just used it as an ex well hope i helped
