Make sure that you are using the commands to the correct groups. With permisssionsEx spelling is absolutly essential. Even one characters diffence makes it a different group. To make sure that its attached to the right group, use /pex group <groupname>.
If it prints out that there are permisisons for that group and at the top of it has a prefix, then come back with a copy of your permissions file.
