I like 1.4. The leather armour is ugly, but, this is what ChimneySwift would say:
It adds more ways to play the game. You can choose to be almost whatever you want in Minecraft. You could be a redstoner, you could have battles with monsters, you can aim to kill the ender dragon, find diamonds, or whatever. You could play Minecraft by using mods to play around with. The new updates just add more to do, although there are some things that you can't get rid of unmodded, like the new sounds, but you get used to it.
And I agree with him.
