    I think you're generalizing. In this day in age, if you call something "gay" as an insult, you get some pretty dirty looks. I mean, sure there's still work to be done, but i don't think that this is still a major issue. Perhaps I'm wrong?

    It is largely recognized as a bad thing by most people, but it's still a major issue. In fact, people assuming that it's already been dealt with kind of perpetuates it.
    There are still, sadly, many people in this world who are against gay rights, or believe homosexuality is inherently wrong in some way. Even worse, a few of these people are actually in positions of authority (although with how little it gets done, I don't know if you can call Congress an actual authority...). It's still an issue, and it still needs to be addressed.
    It's definitely seen some major improvement over the past decade or so, though!

    Actually, no. If pinecone reproduction at a cellular level works even SLIGHTLY like animal reproduction, it's not possible for two of the same gender to actually reproduce. And since pinecones don't have brains or hormones or anything, they can't really have sexual preferences either.

    Animals are a completely different matter, however. Trust me, humans are not the only animals that can be homosexual. Basically any animal that reproduces male and female could be, and there are several documented cases.

    Uhm... No. That makes no sense whatsoever.
    Also, your friend isn't necessarily gay (in fact, it sounds very unlikely to me), (s)he probably just doesn't understand what it means, or is just throwing it around like a random insult, like way too many people in modern society...

    Sometimes I say somewhat rude things without thinking and end up sounding like a total butt. Usually when I'm in a bad mood.
    Also, I procrastinate sometimes. And I get distracted easily.

    Minecraft servers cost money to make, regardless of how you make them and where they're hosted. That money has to come from somewhere, and most of the time it can't come directly out of the server owner's pocket. Donations are usually the only way for the servers to get that money. They are not making a profit off of donations. If anything, they lose money because the donations aren't enough.
