It really won't. Think about how much we have advanced in the past ten years, we are accelerating at a huge rate these days. Over thousands of years it took to invent small things, these days we are making more new discoveries and inventions every day than the human race did in a century along time ago.
I think by the year 5000, Earth will be ruined, inhospitable, damned. Humans will have a colony on Mars, the moon definitely ( we will most likely have one there in our lifetimes ) - but I also think by the year 5000 the moon will be ruined too.
I think in the next 500 years many countries will fall. Its a cycle of civilisation growing, larger and better - and one day gone. Every great nation has fallen. I could name a bunch but the list is huge. Whatever people exist, they won't think like us, they'll have different upbringings. I'm betting that people will live in ruins on other planets, very few will be rich, oil will be long gone, solar and wind energy will be the only options. Power will be hard to get, food rationed, billions of people - if any are still here - will live in slum like conditions.
We should be thankful for where we are, a world on the brink of collapse in my opinion. We are getting the last sip of what is left on this planet. By the time I die rain forests will be something kids will learn in history. Be kind to our planet. Is not got long left.
