It's because of look-alikes. I thought I saw HeroBrine in my world at around midnight. Most people would quit the game and just say they saw him. Instead, I waited until morning and guess what I saw? 2 yellow flowers right next to eachother, which I mistook for his eyes! Also, there is a glitch which mirrors your huminoid for a few seconds and the end of the render distance sometimes. It's the default Steve skin, but appears to only have white eyes.
