Moderators don't get to choose who uploads what, and they don't get to decide what is considered "quality" work. PMC is a fansite where people can upload whatever they want as long as it pertains to the rules, it doesn't matter what quality of work is produced!

Not everyone has to build like Block_Fortress or Rova; sharing a small house you built on a server should be allowed just as much as sharing a massive multiperson build is! PMC is a community, and the aim is to get everyone in on the fun.

That being said, if you see a submission (of any quality) that is breaking a rule, please report it and a moderator will deal with it! Thanks

There are some beautiful small houses on this site. My point is not size, or even taste, but if someone uploads a minigame or project that is essentially a dirt box or a pillar of sand, its here forever. So, what I'm suggesting is if we all have to bear with scrict rules about update logs which mods have direct and exclusive control over, perhaps it would make more sense for them to be able to exercise some quality control over all submissions. Or, alternatively, overhaul the update log issue. I understand why it's in place, it just doesn't work, and people in this thread have specifically hit on that point repeatedly. I appreciate that you guys are taking the time to respond to all of this, but I do think players and contributors have offered some constructive feedback that could make the site better and is worth a second look - explinations of the rules have not resolved the issue for many people who have responded. It's not because people don't want to follow them, it's because they are problematic.

This just isn't true. While our update log rules state that adding images isn't an update, which I assume is what you're referring to, that referrs to adding images of the same map with no additional changes. If you made significant changes to the map, you're welcome to add images and create an update log. Just make sure your update log is more than "added new images of things I changed". Detail your significant changes well and you'll be fine.

You just proved my point. What kind of update could someone with a build (without a schem/map) post according to these rules? Mini games, maps and so on can all have update logs and thus generate more views in ways that mere builds are simply not able, according to the rules, to do.

No idea how you got that from what I said, but no. Totally not at all what I was getting at.

VulpexaIf PMC is going to be strict about what is suitable to post in an update log, then they need to be pickier about the projects that are actually uploaded. Also, the update log thing is skewed unfairly in favor of people who attach schematics to their builds, or for non-build projects, and is almost entirely useless or downright prohibited for people who are just sharing builds.

Standard response here. If something is breaking the rules, report it. The staff WILL get to it, but they have over 200 reports to deal with and they have to consider each one fairly. It's not as quick and easy as most people think to handle reports.
As for the update log, typically, if you can detail exactly what you change and it's something more than "I added some text.", then we don't have a problem. The purpose is to weed out bumpers. If you can provide legitimate details on the update, then you should be good.

That has not been my experience. Also, my comment about bad builds was not in reference to any rules being broken, but the fact that there is an abundance of low quality, unfinished content added that sort of makes strict guidelines about promoting pointless when there is no other standard of quality in place to weed out the dross.

It's a bit hard to see the point in this rule when there are so many really horrid builds clogging up any given search.

Also, I posted pixel art under the "Pixel Art" project option only to have it removed and was told because people create pixel art using generators they are no longer allowed except in the forums section. So....why is there still a Pixel Art project option?

Also, the website's connectivity is abysmal.

I think PMC could be better. That said, I've had a lot of fun sharing my builds, seeing people view and favorite them and it's also been a great tool for finding other people's projects that I really like.
