some mods are not compatible with optifine and if optifine is pre-made into minecraft those mods might not work. So ether modders re code their mods , or mojang re codes optifine. I'd rather like it as a mod, so optifine is easier to update without having to keep updating minecraft. Although, it would be nice to see sp614x working with mojang
