Thank you, that does look similar, however i think ill continue using mine as ive already customized it to have some of my own specific defaults

I tried looking on vscode and didnt find any. guess i didnt look hard enough.
but also blank doesnt help as you still gotta set the name in several places

I realise this, and it is how i've mainly used it so far. but when running functions that are already executing as and at a target entity it seems out to execute as @s[​criteria]
and my main concern is if either in that context are less performance heavy. Optimising is important when you plan to make large datapacks.

I know that they do the same thing functionally, but within minecrafts internal code, is either option processed more efficiently?

I had a simple idea previously that i might make if your interested. Walking speed is the same, but springing is faster
Also maybe faster on paths.

Using my datapack as an example, players biology and pain and movement i would class as player mechanics, the natural and dynamic world and the machines that you can build i would class as game or world mechanics. Although these categories may be getting a bit blurry. Maybe it should just be mechanics and any further differentiation could be put in tags.
Major differences between mods and datapacks is that as of now datapacks cannot create new items, blocks or entities. Only alter existing ones. Due to this some categories that mods have to do with new content would not be applicable to datapacks.

I agree with non-functional being cosmetic.
But i can see a reasonable difference between Game/World and Player mechanics.
I agree that datapacks and mods do and should share many categories but there definitely are some major differences that warrant exclusive categories.

My packs are functional (mechanics based) and so my weak area is cosmetic

Does adventure require a Map though.
I agree that Cosmetic should include 'quality of life' and 'nonfunctional'

Viewing the structures, recipes etc is a great idea.
Almost think structures could be stand alone. But since they have a modifier/category that should be fine.

I don't think you need to have extra survival vs creative filters. But i do think it would be beneficial to add 'Multiplayer Compatible'/'Server Compatible' to the categories. Also make sure to allow multiple categories as many packs will have multiple areas.
I think Admin tools should either be renamed to Creative tools, or add that as an additional category.
Possible additions to categories could be, Combat (weapons,armor,etc). I still think magic(mechanics/enchantments) should stay.

Also, what is Nonfunctional!?

We very much need Datapack competitions and a dedicated section. I agree that they would be much more popular if promoted adequately.

I prefer Marvel Movies (More specifically MCU)

But i find DC is better at animated TV shows, and this does specifically ask for shows

also adding abilities for commands and datapacks, like the ability to add new blocks and entities, left and right click detection, and many more greatly needed changes of the internal invisibla behaviour
