To choose which variant you wish to change into the Andy texture, you have the choice when you download. Make sure to click " Download Minecraft Mob Skin Pack" rather than "Download Minecraft Mob Skin". Downloading the skin on its own requires more steps to putting it into the game.

When putting the texture in your resource packs folder, just put it in there like any other texture pack.

Due to mod incompatibilities, you likely will encounter issues when using texture-affecting mods such as EMF (Entity Model Features) or ETF (Entity Texture Features). If there are any resources you have or find to fix this, feel free to post them in the comments on here so other people can also use those.
