I was coming back from a cave I mined out, about 2 full maps out from the East with a full haul of ores. I was going to take it back to my village I built up, had plenty of traders who would buy my materials.

Anyway, I got to my town but to my surprise, my Iron Golems I had standing guard to the entrance were missing. No leashes sat waiting to be picked up either, probably despawned was my first thought and that the mobs ran off.

But when I entered my town, it was empty. Not a single villager in sight nor sound. All the doors were closed, so I knew it couldn't have been a zombie attack.

I was pissed, I thought I knew who did it for sure. My friends killed off everyone while I was away the bastards, so the next day at school I confronted them.

They told me no! Neither of them were playing that day! I didn't want to believe them, but neither of them smiled nor laughed, they looked as confused as I was.

Maybe it was a troll, just came upon our town and ruined it. But trolls don't leave buildings intact and chests of diamonds and other goods.

After school, I hopped back on and continued searching for clues in the town. I distinctively remember there was no music playing at all, not even during the starting menu. And I checked to see that my sound volumes were up to which they were.

During my investigation, I found a red stone trail, so I decided to follow it. It led me all over the town, and eventually it stopped at an Iron Golem.

It was weird though, red stone circled around it as it stood in the middle, holding a red flower. I walked up to it, and it simply looked at me and turned towards me like it was trying to offer the flower.

I remember it not having the red pupils they usually do, just empty and black.

Feeling uncomfortable, I figured I'd just go to the zombie villager farm to make more population for the town. When I turned around before leaving the town to keep an eye on the mob, it was gone.

Strange, but I kept going. As I made my way, I could swear I heard footsteps of an iron golem behind me but when I stopped it stopped.

I looked back, and behold my amazement that golem I seen was maybe 20 blocks away from me, with that damn flower. I decided to walk backwards to watch it, and of course it didn't move, just stood watching me.

Screw it, I went up to it and grabbed the flower. I heard this loud high pitched like scream and in an instant the golem changed before me and began chasing me!

As I ran from it, I couldn't get the image of what I saw out of my mind. It looked like it was covered in gore, wet looking flesh strewn over it with streaks of what must have been blood, it's eyes empty and corroded, and a mouth one of the same that had blood escaping from its orifice.

Running, I couldn't help but feel that IT was the reason why the village was abandoned. But wait a minute, why am I running? I was in diamond gear, I could easily handle any golem.

So I stopped immediately and turned around to face the monstrosity, I struck at it with my sword but to my dismay it did not react to the hit. It struck me and in an instant I died.

But, I didn't get the usual "You Died" image, instead I heard screams as if people were being tortured and my screen was spammed with images of real life injuries, wounds, blood, and dead bodies.

I thought I saw blood escaping from my screen so I pulled the plug from my computer in a panic frenzy.

I haven't touched my computer in years now, and I still see my friends missing posters...
