When I put the texture on it wasn't transparent. Why doesn't it look transparent? Is there something to change in my Minecraft settings?

as far as I know, the only mobs you can make transparent are endermen, and phantoms, by renaming their textures to have _eyes at the end and making a blank image for enderman/phantom.png
