This was the original description of the Shield before testing it in-game.
This is kind of something I just made for myself.
I just don't like how the default shield takes up so much of my screen when equipped so I made a window shield!


ATTENTION: Transparency in Minecraft shields is impossible without modding, as of 1.16.4. So there isn't any functionality to the shield :(

If transparency in shields becomes supported I'll definitely update this shield though!

You could make a model for it and make it a texture pack instead then it might work

Maybe u can try making the transparency 1% and not 0%

Yeah I've tried that; sadly it just makes it 100% opaque.

Like if you make the blank area a sheet of 1% pure white, it'll show up as 100% pure white.

Just tested it in-game and it completely blacks out the transparent bit :(

Did a bit more research, and the transparency problem is intentional.

"The shield being solid is part of the drawback of using a shield, and part of the balancing of the game."

So it's unlikely to be changed.
