What is the Dalek Mod?

The Dalek Mod is a mod for Minecraft which brings to world of Doctor Who into your game. Whilst using the mod you can travel the universe using the fully functional Tardis, explore a vast array of planets, battle the Cybermen and Daleks. Play by yourself in single player or play with friends and go on an amazing adventure. All this and more from just a simple forge installation!

Sonic Screwdrivers

The Sonic Screwdriver is a valuable tool that has sound effects and has different variations. The Sonics can each do the following:
  • Send a Redstone signal (Broken in current versions)
  • Open iron doors
  • Ignite TNT
  • Turn on redstone lamp
  • Shatter glass panes (Right click and hold, just make sure you are not in hitting distance of the pane)

Why should you be unbanned?: Right so just to point out that being a nuisance isn’t logged as a rule and shouldn’t be, if the person can’t help it suggest they stop immediately. Now to the chase, My actions were wrong, I didn’t do much right, and I come to admit that I was wrong. The reason I was banned was because I went on about something, which I come to admit it was foolish of me, To be honest, with the events at the time, everyone was confused, my stuff was removed from loggrove and put in my tardis, along with the key, Now it sits on the borders of loggrove where 02Nova left it. It’s nearly been 5 months and I can really prove that I’ve learnt ever since, please let me come back.
I noticed the tardis interior doesn't use much, if any of the blocks in the "tardis blocks" section of the creative inventory. Is there any way to change that besides manually replacing each bit with the respective block, or is that not a feature?

Seriously one of my favorite mods, though, I do have one problem. Could we have a crafting recipe for Bessie? I use 1.7.10, and as far to my knowledge, there is not one. Also, could we have an option in the most recent version to travel to other modded dimensions like the Legacy version? Another thought regarding dimensional travel, so we are not left with pink and black blocks for planets/modded dimensions, could displaying the most common block in that dimension be an option? Such as for the Aether, there could be the sky dirt in the place of planet when shown on the console. Just some suggestions, keep up the great work!
I believe planet texture can be added with texture packs. To make one, just uncompile the jar mod, drop the assets/thedalekmod folder into a resource pack. Then go into the textures, and find the plants, then you should be able to add textures to that folder, I just don't know what the names should be, either the dimensions id, or their name.

Dalek Mod Lite is currently for 1.8, 1.10.2 and 1.11.2. DM Lite just adds mobs but a full 1.11.2 update of the Dalek Mod is in development.

This is really strange
I enjoy how this mod was created to be multiplayer friendly. the part that i don't like, is that there are many players tardises in the same dimension. while playing on the dalek mod server, there is the potential that tardis interiors can be destroyed by other players. if they are all going to be in the same dimension, it would be convenient if the tardis interiors were surrounded by a block that is unbreakable, except by the owner of that tardis interior. also, please re add some of the old tardis interiors from the 1.7.10 version! Overall, I enjoy this mod.

That idea has been suggested numerous times, there's still need to find a fix to that problem. Also, the interiors from the 1.7 version will be replaced by new, more accurate interiors.

I am so excited for update 43 i am just sooo excited this mod is amazing thank you so much SWD team
questions (i have a few):
  • does the 1.7.10 version have the latest update?
  • in the 1.8 version i can't seem to locate the TV21 dalek or dalek storm, im in creative so maybe they're just not available in creative?
  • i have yet to completely explore all the tardises but many of the planets are missing from the menus of the few i have gone in
im still exploring 1.8 version so i might yet solve these questions on my own but that first question is the biggest.

The 1.8 version completely rewrote the mod, so A lot of the features from the previous versions are not available at the moment, however further updates will gradually release most of the content back into the game. 1.8 had lots of coding differences from 1.7.10, so lots of the old stuff wouldn't work.
I really like this mod and i want to use it for a series im working on with machinimas and all that. The only problem i have with it is the main menu. Because of the custom Main Menu there is no button from the Replay Mod... Can i remove the custom menu or do you need to make it work?

You don't need to scream that out, explaining the issue clearly an posting screenshots would be of more use than what you wrote.  E.g What's a 'Dark Tardis'? Is it the exterior signs or the interior? You haven't pointed that essential detail out.

It it could either be your computer's graphics and rendering system. Unless multiple users have a 'dark Tardis' it usually is the user's problem not SWD's.

Ok.. well that usually is a lag issue with your computer, where the Tardis interior hasn't been generated yet, or your chunks aren't displaying. Try doing F3+A while in your interior and see if that works. This works in singleplayer and the Dalek Mod servers.

Could you please post screenshots? It would really help in solving this issue.

this mod is amazing. The only problem is that you have too much items like the moon rocks you have way, way too much items. Its good to have alot of things but not too much otherwise it will just lag your game so if you could remove some things like the moon rocks because you have way too much of them.

The moon rocks are all one block with just 16 metadata values. Exactly the same as how the stained clay / stained glass blocks work. They only take up one block ID and don't really cause any lag.
