Welcome to the new More Ores thread! a lot has changed since More Ores was last updated... some blocks have been removed, lots of items have been added, some items have been given uses, some blocks that didn't previously have any uses now do, and more! For a complete changelog click HERE.
Please join me in welcoming Formulayeti to the More Ores team! **applause** Formulayeti is now helping me code More Ores along with bug-fixing and will be helping me to format this thread! (this is why we are using a shared account as neither of us knows how to share authorship in a thread)
The More Ores team now consists of Formulayeti (coding/thread), VGFreak97 (all textures that aren't recolors), and myself: Nicaetinismo (coding/thread/creator/general)

BLOCKS
as those of you who have been using More Ores for a long time can see, several of the ores have been removed
all of the gem blocks are still there, same with the combo blocks (see the crafting guide for recipes)
the nuke will be re-added later
PLEASE refrain from suggesting new ores/gems to add until More Ores is out of WIP stage (1.0+)

all credit for the item sprites goes to VGFreak97 (except for the ones that are obvious recolors
)
PLEASE NOTE: this does not include ALL the items (that would take up WAY too much space as there are currently about 100 items in this mod), the items that are displayed here are either unique (in the case of the gems/ore etc), or have other forms (i.e. the crowns and staves)

How to install More Ores (client)
More Ores is now installed just like any other mod, just take everything thats in the download and put it in minecraft.jar... simple!
once you've installed More Ores and run the game at least once, you can change the block ids and item ids (if you have any conflicts) by going to your minecraft folder and from there going to /mods/MoreOres/MoreOresIDs.txt (dont ever change the number after the "!" !!!)
if you get a blackscreen, you probably didn't delete the META-INF folder, if you did, or are getting a crash from something else, download one of these debuggers:
windows:

How to install More Ores (server)
Installing More Ores on a server is pretty easy, just take all the stuff in the download and put them in minecraft_server.jar just like you would in minecraft.jar for the client (make sure ModLoaderMP and MinecraftForge are installed first!)
If you want to change the spawn options for the blocks, youll have to run the server at least once, then you can change the spawn options by going to the folder where your server files are, then go to /MoreOres/MoreOresSpawnProps.txt and change them!

What happened in v0.7???
**More Ores is now part of the Minecraft Forge family!**
More Ores uses Minecraft forge for both the toolutils feature and the infinite sprites! (which means youll never run out of sprites because of More Ores ever again!)
**More Ores is now ported to SMP!**
All of you who have been waiting patiently all this time for More Ores to finally be ported to SMP rejoice! Now you can enjoy all the new ores and items with your friends!
**A new item type has been added: the Staff!**
The More Ores staves all have some some sort of magical power, for example: the Ruby Staff shoots fireballs!
currently, there are: nano-diamond, ruby, jade, onyx, amethyst, lava-stone, nether-emerald, citrine, and sapphire staves!
(although the current use of the amethyst and nether-emerald staves are very likley to be temporary)
**Achievements have been added!**
There are currently 7 new achievements added by More Ores go get 'em!
**Now we use a new format for the IDs properties file!**
We decided that the default properties file was too plain for my tastes and for More Ores... so we made our own!
this custom file parser makes comments in the file much easier to add (so we can explain what everything does!), as well as track the current version of More Ores! Because of this, youll never have to go and delete the properties file when we add new things to More Ores, we do it for you! (and don't worry, none of the changes you make to the properties file will ever be overwritten!)
**A couple more blocks have been removed due to lack of uses!**
Cinnabar and Graphite have been removed
**Volatile Matter has been tweaked!**
The possibilities of volatile matter are endless! Now its possible to receive dirt, iron, coal, gold, sticks, and even diamonds we you mine Volatile Matter!
Also: now, the better pickaxe you use, the less bad stuff will happen (i.e. when you use a diamond pickaxe, its impossible for a creeper to spawn from Volatile Matter)

**Other small changes**
*Added an ability to the amethyst crown: it makes you take no fall damage*
*Changed all the default block ids to the 170 range, hopefully youll get less conflicts that way*
*Fixed up a lot of code in the mod to make it more efficient*
*Changed all our classes (besides the mod_ class) to start with "MO" to make uninstalling easier*

Alternate Textures:
there are currently no alternate textures available, as we changed the format of the sprites, anyone who's made alternate textures for More Ores int he past: can you please check out the new format for the sprites and update your alternate textures!
