This mod focuses on improving "vanilla style" automation. It currently does three things.

#1 it adds an automatic crafting table:
The crafting table has 19 inventory slots. 9 of them are just storage slots, 9 of them function as a crafting square, and 1 is for output.

Whenever the table receives a redstone pulse, it crafts one item of the recipe specified by the items in the crafting square. When the table crafts an item, it pulls the required items from the storage slots first, but if there are not enough items in the storage slots, it will use items in the crafting slot. The table won't craft an item if doing so would use up the last item of any one slot in the crafting square. The table also will not craft an item if there is not enough space in the output slot.

Droppers and hoppers attached to the table will insert items into the storage slots, unless they are trying to insert an item that is in the crafting square and the stack in that square has space to fit the item.

Hoppers will remove items from the output slot first, and then remove items from the storage slots if said items are not used in the crafting recipe.

Items that are not consumed by the crafting recipe will remain in the crafting square. Items like milk buckets that are modified by the crafting recipe have modified version placed into the storage slots, unless, for some reason, there is not enough room to do so, at which point the items are ejected into the world.

#2 It allows dispensers to plant seeds and saplings, enabling crops and trees to be automatically planted.

#3 It adds 2 new mobs, the arrow golem and nether sentinel. The nether sentinel is a weaker stationary variant of the wither that is created by placing 1 wither skeleton skull on top of a 3x3x2 formation of soul sand. The nether sentinel will berak blocks when suffocated just like the wither, however if you kill it it will drop a nether twinkle, which can be used to craft a nether star (4 twinkles in a square) or a "Nether'O Lantern". The "Nether'O Lantern" can be used to create an arrow golem by placing it on top of a 3x3x2 iron block formation. The arrow golem is stationary, shoots arrows at hostile mobs, and breaks blocks when suffocated. With the arrow golem, it is very safe and simple to create block breaking machines, and they are great for automatically killing mobs in a wide variety of situations. They also have a passive healing rate of 0.5 hearts a second, so keep that in mind when building machines that suffocate them.

UPDATE 3.0:

• Dispensers now plant seeds saplings and flowers. This should included modded versions of those items, but items can be black listed via the config menu. (Mods > Automatic Crafting Table > Config)
  
• Added 2 new entities, arrow golem and nether sentinel. Both entities are able to be used to automatically break blocks.
  
• Added nether twinkle, which can be used to craft a Nether'O Lantern, which can be used to summon an arrow golem
  

UPDATE 2.0:

• Updated to 1.12.2
  
• Properly implemented comparator behavior. Comparators will now output a signal if the table is able to raft it's current recipe.
  
• Added an advancement related to the auto table that unlocks it's recipe.
  

The mod is for minecraft forge 1.12.2.
