  • Displays readable player names above locator bar markers.

  • Replaces locator dots with player skin faces.

  • Shows optional distance text beside player names.

  • Preserves team colors when available.

  • Includes a self-view mode for clean locator bar screenshots.

  • Hides hearts, hunger, armor, and the vanilla locator bar while self-view mode is active.

  • Works entirely client-side without requiring server installation.

  • Supports Fabric and NeoForge.

  • Integrates with Mod Menu on Fabric for in-game configuration.

  • Supports an optional Paper plugin integration through Allium Essentials.

Allium Servers

Allium Essentials is an optional Paper server plugin that provides CrowBar with dedicated locator data.

With Allium installed, the server can send the player UUID, position, team color, and visibility state needed to render the custom locator bar. This allows CrowBar to display players who are hidden, sneaking, invisible, or otherwise missing from vanilla waypoint data.

Server owners can also keep NPC waypoint transmission range at zero while still providing CrowBar with the player data it needs.

Without Allium, CrowBar falls back to normal client-visible players and continues to work in multiplayer, LAN, and single-player integrated-server sessions.

GPX-CrowBar

When GPExpansion is installed on the server, claim waypoints display the claim name and a bowtie marker on the locator bar for claim owners and trusted players.

CrowBar reads this locator data and renders the claim name above the waypoint, providing readable claim labels directly on the locator bar.

Building from Source

Clone the repository and run the Gradle build:
./gradlew build
You can also build individual version and loader subprojects:
./gradlew :version21_6:fabric:build :version21_6:neoforge:build :version21_9:fabric:build :version21_9:neoforge:build :version21:neoforge:build

Project Structure

  • version21_6: Minecraft 1.21.6–1.21.8 — Fabric and NeoForge

  • version21_9: Minecraft 1.21.9–1.21.11 — Fabric and NeoForge

  • version21: Minecraft 1.21.11 — NeoForge

  • version26_1: Minecraft 26.1.x — Fabric and NeoForge

  • version26_2: Minecraft 26.2.x — Fabric and NeoForge

  • version26_3: Minecraft 26.3.x — Fabric and NeoForge

  • common: Loader-agnostic logic shared by all builds

Built jars are located in each subproject's build/libs/ directory.

NeoForge builds use ModDevGradle and official mappings. The 26.x projects target Java 25, while the earlier Minecraft versions target Java 21.

NeoForge builds are separated by Minecraft version because Mojang's class renames can change the available APIs. For example, ResourceLocation became Identifier in Minecraft 1.21.11. Minecraft 26.3 also replaced GLFW with SDL3, so its keybind handling uses InputConstants rather than LWJGL's GLFW bindings.
