Hardcore Hopper is a 5-way hopper that works exactly like vanilla but splits evenly.
Every 8 ticks Hardcore Hopper pulls 1 item from the inventory above it, then pushes 1 item to the next side in a round-robin rotation: Down -> North -> South -> West -> East -> back to Down. It has a 5-slot internal buffer, uses an 8-tick cooldown and a next_side NBT tag to remember rotation, and checks both sided and unsided capabilities so it works with chests, barrels, furnaces and other hoppers. Because it stays at 1x vanilla speed it's fully comparator-safe, so it can be used directly in inventory sorters without breaking filter logic, while still giving you five outputs from one block.
Input:
Only from the top. It checks the block directly above it pos.above() and tries DOWN face first, then null face for barrel compatibility. 1 item per operation, 8 tick cooldown, so 1 item every 0.4 seconds like a vanilla hopper. It fills its own 5-slot internal buffer. If the buffer is full, it stops pulling until it can push something out.
Output:
5 possible outputs: Down, North, South, West, East. No Up - that's reserved for intake. Round-robin, not random. It stores next_side in NBT. It pushes 1 item to Down, next operation it pushes to North, then South, West, East, then loops back to Down. Each output is checked for an inventory with null face first then opposite face, so barrels and chests both work. If the target for next_side is full or missing, it skips to the next valid side in the rotation that can accept the item. 1 item per operation, 8 tick cooldown, same speed as intake, so it never dupes and stays comparator-safe.
Top is always input, the other 5 sides are always output.
