MineColonies Questline for FTB Quests

This is NOT a standalone mod. It is an add-in questline (config files) for FTB Quests that is intended to explain to new players how to play Minecolonies and provide some useful information to new and returning users.

Assumptions

The assumption is that you already have a modpack or creating a modpack with MineColonies. It's also assumed that you are using a modloader such as CurseForge to install and manage mods and mod dependencies.

Versions

Created and tested using Minecraft version 1.20.1 [​forge].

Dependencies

Required Mods:

MineColonies Questline Installation

• Copy the minecolonies.snbt file to: [​yourmodpack]/config/ftbquest/chapters/
• Copy the minecolonies_common.snbt file to: [​yourmodpack]/config/ftbquest/reward_tables/

Kubejs Installation (Optional)

The questline includes some title graphics just to make it look more fancy. These are not required for functionaly and purely for decoration. I don't know how else to load the images without kubejs. So, If there is a better way feel free to make a suggestion.

• Copy the entire minecolonies folder with contents to: [​yourmodpack]/kubejs/assets/

Re/launch the game and check the quest book.

WIP

Currently this questline has most buildings (huts) in the game, but not all. Also, I tried to use advancements whenever possible when determining when a quest was complete, however I was not able to find advancements for some buildings. They may not exists, or I did not know what to look for. In these situations the quest is completed when the player crafts the hut block. Not Ideal, but until an advancement is available its all I can do.

Future Plans

• Add some easter egg (hidden) quests.
• Add a loot table for randomized rewards. (basic rewards like food and flowers)
