Zombies attack you only if aggrivated.
Zombie pigmen have diamond swords and will sometimes drop 2 diamonds, rotten flesh, gold nuggets, or a diamond sword in various combinations.
Creepers attack Zombies.
Endermen can carry wooden planks.
Magma Cubes spawn in the End dimension.
Withers spawn in the Nether, but very rarely.
This doesn't need modloader/forge.
