Why the Nether? Why not?
Nether Survival asks a very simple question: What can you accomplish if you're trapped in the nether?
This is a simple datapack designed to transport players to the nether, optionally give them a few supplies to enable survival, and then keep them there even if they die.
This datapack is multiplayer friendly. After setup is complete, any new players joining the server will spawn in the nether instantly.
PLEASE NOTICE
The downloaded file contains two datapacks. The first is the legacy version for 1.13 through 1.15. The second pack is the version for 1.16. The legacy pack will also likely work in 1.16, but the 1.16 pack will NOT work in earlier versions. Any updates or tweaks will be for the 1.16 pack
Difficulty Modes
The 1.16 pack includes two modes, which are selected during setup:
EASY - Same as the legacy pack, starts you with a few items to make your life easier
HARD - No items, just a spawn box. For those who want a pure nether experience
Difficulty can be changed after set up by running:
/function nethersurvival:difficulty_easy OR /function nethersurvival:difficulty_hard
This will only affect new players
To Install
Surviving in the nether isn't easy, but as proven by a group of friends over the course of a month, it's totally possible to thrive. It just requires a little creativity and minecraft know-how. If you are curious or want some ideas on how to survive, I documented my survival on Youtube.

[Bug Fix] - 2020/06/25 : by Yirggzmb 06/25/2020 4:28:47 pmJun 25th, 2020
Fixed a small bug that caused the Easy/Hard setting to get reset on server reload.
If you are using this pack on a server, I highly recommend updating
The legacy version has not been changed.

As far as I can tell so far, there haven't been any major command changes in the snapshots that would break it. So at minimum, you ought to be able to load it up in 1.16 as is. But once the first pre-release is out, I plan to make double sure.
I don't have any plans for balance changes at this moment. My goal is to give the minimum with which you need to survive, and so far it seems my choices still apply. Will be keeping an eye on snapshots to be sure though.
