This pack allows access to a creative building world within what would otherwise be a regular survival world.
Features
- Can be installed via 1.16's new "add datapack" screen on the create world screen, without having to type /reload
- Access the build world via a portal made from endstone and netherbrick
- Portal corner blocks do not matter!
- Separate inventories between your regular world and the creative one
- You will always return to the portal you left from
- Players in spectator can use the portals and will remain in spectator
- Portals can be used in any vanilla dimension
Creating Portals
Portals are build similarly to nether portals. Create a small 2x1 doorway, using endstone for the sides and netherbrick for the top and bottom. The corner blocks do not matter. Final size, 4x3 with the 2x1 gap in the middle. Place an armorstand inside the portal and light it on fire to activate.
Note
This pack is considered to be in Beta for a few reasons.
1) 1.16 is still in prereleases
1.b) The custom dimension feature is still in flux
2) The pack has been tested in single player and small scale multiplayer, but no guarantees for larger servers
Fair warning that this pack will likely only function on pre-release 1.16 or 1.16. Maybe 1.16.1.
Custom wold definitions have changed multiple times starting with 1.16.2

Great datapack.
The only issue for SMP seems to be the Ender Chest exploit. Can Ender Chests be removed/hidden from the Creative menu through data packs or commands? Like Command a Structure blocks are hidden.
This doesn't 100% kill the exploit, but it would make it very unlikely to accidentally stumble upon.
One or both of those are on my emergency bug fix list. Hoping to get that out in a few days.
Possible Solutions: Disable commands and ender chests in the world?
(You can still place and break ender chests just don't let them open it since they do come with cool purple particle effects builders might use)
Enderchests, on the other hand. Yeah...I should have thought of those. Unfortunately, I don't really have a way to prevent players from opening them. With a proper mod instead of a datapack, I imagine it could be done, but in vanilla datapacks the best I can think of would require a mandatory resource pack to disguise the fact that I've replaced the enderchest with something else. Something to think about and update soon though. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention!
You could force the game mode with the following command to the main.mcfunction file:
execute as @a[nbt=!{Dimension:"buildworld:buildworld"},gamemode=!spectator] run gamemode survival @s
But the inventory storage and swapping is directly tied to an armorstand at the portal location. It's not as simple as it sounds to save an inventory and give it back, alas. If you don't mind just emptying your inventory into a chest before you go use the portal in, you could do the above tweak and go for it. But otherwise, I recommend avoiding it.
