This is my design for a fully-automatic sugarcane farm. It harvests once per day with the help of daylight detectors(every 20 minutes). This way, the canes have plenty of time to grow.
I originally designed this for my underground storage room on a SMP server, so it is not ideal for someone whose storage is above ground.
The design is stackable, meaning you can re-create it infinitely, and have no issues. It is a bit resource intensive with the pistons, but it is well worth it. Farming has never been easier!
