Updating this project yet again...
I have completely rebuilt the decoder from the ground up, from a 5-32 decoder to a 6-64. The T-flip flop and clock are gone for the time being, but should return in the next update. Just couldnt find the room till I redesign the TFF to take less floor space. Will post additional goals for the build in the update logs.
However I did want to get something new posted since I wont be on Minecraft much after the 1st of April. So further updates may be postponed providing I dont have all of my goals met by then.
The primary reason which I chose to post, and then complete and repost this was as a visual learning aid for those who are starting out with redstone. I couldnt find anything like this when I was getting started, and I feel that it could have been a valueable resource to be able to go in and play with something that worked as intended. I learned a LOT while building this, and it has pushed me to do bigger and better projects. I can only hope it helps others. So if you are new to redstone feel free to download and take a look, but dont forget to build your own as well. This is intended as a guide.
If you are good with redstone, feel free to comment and offer suggestions if you see areas where I could improve.
If you are less good with redstone, feel free to ask questions. I would be happy to help in whatever capacity I am able.
Mostly just have fun with it
Thx

Update #5 : by DorkyJ 04/27/2011 6:59:39 pmApr 27th, 2011
Implemented redesigned displays as well as new 6-64 bit decoder. Enclosed entire device in a "reasonably" sized building.
Still working on memory device to store values.
Would like to upgrade adder to full APU.
Clock and T-flop need rebuilt and redesigned to meet new space considerations.
Hoping to close this project out before April 1st.
