Im putting up pics of my first project in a long time. Mainly I havent been playing much Minecraft since there was little being added as far as redstone went. Since we now have a higher ceiling and redstone lamps in the new snapshot, I have been back at it with some new ideas.


This first new project is a very compact 7 segment display and decoder. The current dimensions of the entire device are approx 8wx11hx24l blocks when completed. (In the pis its a little wider, however some of the width is just to hold up levers and would not be in the finished product.)


The concept is to have a display small enough to place side by side with no more than 3 spaces between the actual lit parts, so it looks good. As well as being totally self contained. I still need to work out a seperate logic control to operate multiple displays however. Once complete the logic control will be able to operate each display by translating the binary input and sending the correct signal to the correct display (Seperating the 1's 10's 100's etc...) With the displays and controls being completely modular. (Im hoping the controller will be no more than 8wx10hx24 and can be placed beneath the display unit.)


In theory it should be able to handle as many bits of information as needed for any project. Just add displays as needed and 1 control per display. In theory anyhow.
