3x2 redstone door

This is my first redstone project, and I'm not very good with redstone, so if you have an easier/more efficient way of doing it, feel free to tell me! :P
I tried to explain what to do in the captions, but incase it wasn't clear, I'll give more detailed instructions here:

1. Hollow out a 2 block deep 14x9 area. (Mine was only 10x9 and I went 4 blocks over the edge.. oops :P)
2. count 5 blocks from the front of the hole and place 3 pistons 2 blocks from the edges.
3. Place redstone in the pattern shown on the image.
4. Place blocks in the shown pattern and place redstone and redstone repeaters in the shown formation (I used dirt because it's       easy and cheap)
5. Place redstone torches and redstone as shown
6. Place redstone repeaters and redstone torches as shown
7. Add redstone torches onto the dirt blocks you placed before, and the pistons should slide out
8. Remember to check your redstone!
9. Now you can cover up the redstone and use your door!
